Investigation targets should NOT be announced. Mafia can use frame a townsperson after the fact.

We've always claimed targets... you know to avoid everyone investigating the same person. Simply claim someone and investigate immediately. Then mafia don't have time to frame.

Big problem: mafia can use frame a Townsperson ANY time. So if people say publicly who they will be investigating, the mafia can get in a frame before the investigation goes through.

It would be difficult to Frame someone if the investigation occurs a minute after the post. If you really feel this is a problem. Then investigators can claim two people and mafia have to take a 50/50 chance.

EDIT: Maybe I should look at the rule

How about the following: an investigator says they're about to investigate, then performs the investigation, then announces who they've investigated. Nobody else investigates in the meantime. Then there are no redundant investigations, but nobody announces their target until after they're done.

The point is that god response times aren't part of the rules. If the investigation request is sent before the frame request is sent, the investigation should be unaffected no matter how long god takes to respond. Players don't get penalized for issues with god.

the order of things would be the order in which pms came through. So if an investigator sends a pm at 7, mafia sends a pm at 7:05, and aok doesn't see them until 8, then the investigator would get the truthful result. This seems like not an issue.

So re: isaacg, players don't wait for results before announcing targets, they just announce investigation, make request, announce target.
