I am proxying for Detective Dick Gumshoe, who says that michikyo killed mads, although their investigation results are not guaranteed to be accurate.

proxying for Investigator Sherlock, who says that michikyo killed mads
they have no reason to think that their investigation is wrong

Maybe Lucy's investigator should investigate someone other than michikyo, to rule out some crazy role thing messing up the result,

such as insane cops, or someone who always shows up as guilty, or other weird stuff? It's not like there's much more use to getting a third positive on michikyo.

on that note, should we lynch michikyo? I think so

I think we should hold off... I think there are investigation-manipulating shenanigans going on here, or role bullshit, or both. I'd rather vote no lynch tonight.

Given that 4 investigations on 3 different targets have all apparently turned up guilty, I think none of the results should be trusted.

Rawls investigated Josh -> Mads (guilty);
Sea investigated Shensley -> Mads (guilty);
Sherlock investigated Michikyo -> Mads (guilty);
Dick Gumshoe investigated Michikyo -> Mads (guilty).

I think only innocent investigations really mean anything in this game

Investigator Dupin says that lzahray didn't kill mads. They investigated yesterday and are sorry for the delay in posting.

If anyone has a town role that involves killing, perhaps it might be worth sacrificing someone publicly, so that each investigator can figure out how their investigation compares to what actually happened.

Ooh, I like that idea. This should probably happen early on so that we can get the information faster.

Another possibility is simply using an investigative ability to, for instance, investigate yourself for the murder. And, since you're clearly town and couldn't have done the murder, your response will tell you something about your power.

This involves no townie sacrifices.

There might be roles that give accurate and inaccurate results randomly/under different circumstances.

This is true, I was thinking that one test doesn't give you accurate judgment, but it seems like without testing the investigations at least once or twice and forming a hypothesis about each investigator's pattern, all investigations are useless.

There seem to be two reasonable theories about investigators (assuming they are the same type):
(1) They get a random result on not-the-killer (there seems to be a pretty high value for false positive if we assume this because there are 5 investigations and 4 are positive)
(2) They get a reversed value (sorry to say this Lisa! I prefer the notion that innocent means definitely innocent)

Do we want to reinvestigate mads? Or try and figure out how investigations work (by investigators investigating themselves)? Or investigate ltchin?

I think investigating ltchin would be the best bet. Honestly though I don't think any of those options would be terribly useful.

Hmmmm I have no idea. Really. None of those options gives us that much information....

I don't know whether mads or ltchin would be a more reasonable investigation. I think if an investigator has reason to be suspicious of a specific person for a death, then definitely do that. Otherwise ughhh idk investigations are so weird in this game
