I shoveled Ellena using a (questionably reliable) shovel, and was told that her role was "insane cop", i.e. a role that checks one person's alignment per day and sees the opposite of what is actually true. They themselves do not know that they are getting the opposite results. This is a town role.

If this is indeed the case, then the post I made earlier about Sammyluo being town is in fact false, because that information was given to me by Ellena.

Tl;dr: I'm very confused.

Regardless of whether Ellena was it or not, there's probably a role that has investigations work like this.It might be worth re-investigating people who were "cleared" by investigations, since they might really be guilty. i.e. multiple investigators should do the same investigation and compare results.

I would suggest not investigating the first one (mads) because, historically, the first murder has very often been messed with to give weird results.
(I realize that I was there at the murder scene at the time of the murder, making this suggestion look pretty sketchy coming from me. But you can't deny that this has happened frequently in previous games.)

I don't know what else to gather from this information. I am also very confused.

Idk. I kind of have a feeling Sammyluo could've been mafia and his staying alive after death was his special power. So I'm not really trusting him but idk what to think about all this crazy stuff

I was also thinking, maybe multiple investigators should investigate the same thing to see how their results compare. This may be more productive than them investigating themselves, but I'm not sure.

Hmm, interesting. Did Ellena specify how she had gotten the information initially?

To clarify, are you saying Ellena's role would have told the *alignment* (i.e. town v. mafia) of a player? Was this restricted to dead players? Otherwise it seems like a somewhat too OP role, though perhaps one that might not be unimaginable for this game.

Of course, the shovel is questionable... does someone want to shovel me to see what the result is and how these shovels work? Though I suppose that might be kind of a waste. A class clown (or some other way of generating items) would be quite helpful.

Yes, specifically alignment rather than role.

The result on you was generated through Ellena's power. I am not sure if it was restricted to dead or alive players; the result of my shovel didn't seem to indicate one way or another. Perhaps she had a quota for each. What she told me was that you were dead, and that an alignment check on you returned town.
