When evening came, Cinderella wished to leave, and the king's son was anxious to go with her, but she escaped from him so quickly that he could not follow her. The king's son, however, had employed a ruse, and had caused the whole staircase to be smeared with pitch, and there, when she ran down, had the maiden's left slipper remained stuck. The king's son picked it up, and it was small and dainty, and all golden.

Next morning, he went with it to the father, and said to him, no one shall be my wife but she whose foot this golden slipper fits. Then were the sister and brother glad, for they had pretty feet. The sister tried the shoe, but is was far too large, and there was no way to make it fit. So the brother, jakob, then tried as well. He carefully dressed up in drag that fit the style of the shoe, and went with the shoe into his room to try it on, and his mother stood by. But he could not get his big toe into it, and the shoe was too small for him. Then his mother gave him a knife and said,
"Cut the toe off, when you are king you will have no more need to go on foot."
Jakob cut the toe off, forced the foot into the shoe, swallowed the pain, and went out to the king's son. Then he took him on his his horse as his bride and rode away with him. Even upon discovering that Jakob was truly a young man in drag, the prince still loved him. Unfortunately, the toe became infected and gangrene took hold and jakob died.


Jakob was found dead at 6:15 pm in 34-501.

sammyluo, ajliu, and I saw each other on Floor Pi around 6:20PM and I just came back from my UROP meeting at CSAIL that ran late. David Karger, awaln and many other NPs can confirm.

Was eating in Simmons dining with volanski...possibly was on the 4AB lounge with volanski, Texas, and cstubbe? Not sure if we came up from dining before or after 6:15 but it was right around then.

I'm on floorpi. I was in my room; I walked onto hall shouting "Justine!" and simultaneously saw Justinej around 6:20pm when Jakob first answered "no" to "are you alive." Justine was just coming onto hall though (but she had a commitment beforehand of some sort?)
ajliu was also on hall by that point, and I don't think she sneaked on in the 5 minutes before that, so I think I'm comfortable alibiing her.

I was in Simmons. I was supposed to be leaving to meet my prefrosh but it turns out I didn't have to meet hur until 7. So I was in the 2ab lounge

At 4:13 pm Jakob said he was with jhgiles at the 6.01 staff meeting. Presumably this was also true 2 hours later (Jakob took a break to go to clover, then went back). So, jhgiles should be investigated, and we should hear what he has to say about who else was there around 6:15pm.

I was also in the 6.01 staff meeting at the time. I was facing away from most people and didn't realize anyone died until I read the forum. Feel free to investigate me, but you won't find anything.
