It requires 18 people.

I'll be at ET much of the weekend, but I can be on campus tonight from 7-9pm.

Let's meet up at 7 (unless there's general consensus on a better time) to talk about game and do some ceremonial stuff! Meet in Lobby 7 and we'll find a nearby place to chant.

I'll most likely be there!

Can you tell us what the ceremony is supposed to do?

As a reminder, this is NOT at Random because I am not going to visit random tonight.

I have no information about what the ceremony does other than what was stated in the kickoff meeting. I can promise the chant is entertaining though :)

To those who can't make it - would a slightly later time work? Please post any time you could do a ceremony between 7 and 9.

I could do any time until 8 pm, but I have to be at Harvard sq by 8:30 so it would need to start on time.

Would meeting at lobby 10 be good then? Just a generic neutral loc.

I can make it.

Also, I am proxying for someone else who knows a ceremony to perform that requires 17 people. I have the ritual chant; it would probably be efficient to do both tonight if we get enough people.

Can't do both with subset of same players. Wasn't there a rule for that?

For the numerous people whom I am now aware of having ceremonies for somewhere between 14 and 20 people, we can only do one tonight UNLESS we manage to get together enough people for distinct sets of people to do more than one... this is unlikely.

If you have a ceremony that requires a smaller number of people, please feel free to bring it, because that way if we don't get enough people for mine we can do yours instead. If you want to remain anonymous I can distribute the chant on your behalf, provided you are also present.

Here's a refresher on the ceremony rules:

Some people may be given ceremony incants. A ceremony consist of a large group of people saying a particular, secret, catch phrase. A ceremony will generally have three elements
1. a minimum required number of players who must recite a ritual phrase
2. a secret ritual phrase that must be recited
3. a leader who must be present for a ceremony and inform the gods whether and when the ceremony has happened and who was present. (The leader may however choose to not make themselves revealed).

A catch phrase in general will be a sequence of words like:
“Dog goes woof, Cat goes meow and Bird goes tweet, What does the fox say?”

The process of a ceremony:
1. All participants say the ritual catch phrase. It should be clear which players are participating.
2. The Ceremony Leader sends a pm to the gods with a list of people attending
3. GMs initiate the effects of the ceremony

Ceremonies are not fakeable and not repeatable (DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE ONE UP). All Ceremonies will have distinct incants. You may not participate in two different ceremonies two days in a row. Ceremonies are generally beneficial for town.

I will probably be able to make it there at that time, but depending on how life goes I might not be able to.

Actually, somewhat later than 7 may be better so I can eat food first. Not sure.

I will be there (can at any time between 5 and 9 pm). But would rather not go to Random. Lobby 7 is good for me.

I'd also suggest making a whenisgood with 15 minutes intervals to keep count of people to make sure we have enough.

Can we do whenisgood-style things without breaking the anonymous communication rule? The closest I can think of is a Google form that logs the gmail account of the person.

Google forms can't do that. We could require people to put their name in a whenisgood/google form/etc.

But then they could lie.

That'd violate the no anonymous communication rule, so they'd be cheating.

In that case I would think the person who set up the form would be cheating... (?) If gods want to weigh in on this, feel free. I don't think enough people will fill out a whenisgood in the next few hours for it to make a difference for tonight (but it may be relevant for the future).

People are free to use whenisgood or whatever electronic scheduling app, but they may not lie about who they are.

Regarding the spreadsheet, game spreadsheets should only be a way of aggregating information that is findable on the forums. No one should attempt to communicate information directly to the spreadsheet (that would be anonymous communication). Color coding toes the line a little bit, but if the color distinctions are mostly objective, then we gods don't care much.
