So, there is this thing in math, it's called a Jacobian. It's a matrix. This Jacobian matrix was walking down the street. He met a nice Zero matrix, and they multiplied. Sadly, this meant the Jacobian matrix didn't exist anymore. Poor matrix. I think the Jacobian is supposed to be the determinant of the Jacobian Matrix, actually, even though people will often say "take the Jacobian" when they mean find the Jacobian Matrix. |

Oops......... Moral of the story: Jacobian is dead and I don't know enough math. |

I mean, the determinant of a Jacobian Matrix multiplied with the zero matrix would still be zero |

I've heard both the Jacobian matrix and its determinant referred to as the Jacobian. |

==Alex. Multiplying by scalars works for lots of things, in any case. |
