You're the masons. You want to know as much as possible.

In particular,

what is everyone's role?
what are the secret rules?
where is the hole grail?

You must figure these things out. It's very important.

dininno
ksedlar
tsims

Your recruiter (currently tsims, but can be changed by agreement of at least 3/4 of the masons rounded up) may recruit new members into the masons with the incant "brainwash". They gain the masonry goal and \ care about it a reasonably large amount. If you induct someone evil, it might make it easier for them to kill you.

Is there a rate limit of how often people can be brainwashed?

If the recruiter dies, can we elect a new one?

Relatedly, do dead masons count as masons for the purpose of election? E.g. If tsims dies before recruiting someone, would we be unable to elect a new recruiter because we can't have 3/4 of masons vote?

Do we have any priority tiering on what we want to figure out? Do we care more about "what is everyone's role? what are the secret rules?where is the hole grail?" questions than about knowing stuff in general, such as the identity of a killer for a kill? Do we have any hard win condition, or is it a soft, "Jakob decides if the masons know enough to count as having achieved victory?" For the purpose of the masonry goal, does the individual mason X only care about X knowing as much as possible, or does she also care about the other masons knowing as much as possible? If the latter, does overlap matter (e.g. if mason X knows fact Y, does mason Z have any goal-incentive to know fact Y as well? Would mason X have goal-incentive to have mason Z know fact Y?)

You can brainwash once every 2 days. There can never be more than 5 masons. There is not a hard limit as to what counts as winning, you just want to gather as much information as possible. You prefer information that was true at game start to information that happens to be howgame has happened. Your "win condition" is still your faction's, but let's say you get 3 points for that and 2 points for the masons' goal.

You want the masons as a group to together know as much as possible. The location of the grail may change throughout the game, but it's still important even if it isn't where it was at game start.

What do you mean by "faction"? Like town or mafia? Why would we get more points for a faction goal than the mason goal then?

Regarding the location of the grail, do we care equally about the current location, previous locations, and game start location? Or do we care current location > game start location > previous locations?

Does brainwashing people automatically give them access to this forum? If not, is giving someone access to this forum something any forum member can do, or only something that can be done with a certain fraction of us agreeing?

Brainwashing someone gives them access to the forum. I think you're interpreting your caring more about the masons than I initially intended. I'll say (this overrules the past things) that you're expected to spend most of your game energy on the mason goal (about 70%) but you're still hoping that your faction (ya, town, mafia, etc.) wins and won't betray them to make the masons do a little better.

Wild guess is that it is hypothetical yakuza, which (probably?) don't exist this game.

Also, I'm still unclear about "You want the masons as a group to together know as much as possible." Does that mean that we want the sum of of each individuals knowledge to be as large as possible, or the union of knowledge to be as large as possible (AKA how beneficial is it to tell other masons things we already know?) Also, do dead masons' knowledge still count for us knowing things?

Also, by brainwash once every two days, if we brainwashed no one day one and someone day 2, could we or could we not brainwash someone day 3?

You must have a non-brainwashing day between 2 brainwashing days. You should accumulate you rknowledge somewhere in this forum.

So does knowledge gathered not count unless it's posted in this forum?

I'll rephrase that. Placing knowledge in the forum is the easiest way to make it clear that it counts accumulated by all of you. You want the average amount of knowledge among all masons to be largest, so adding masons who know nothing will decrease your success, and sharing knowledge with each other will increase it.

Do the three original Masons *necessarily* have the same faction alignment?

Is "hole grail" a typo for "holy grail"?

Not to get too philosophical here, but what exactly is "knowledge" with respect to our goal? Are we trying to have as many justified true beliefs about game as possible?

Yes, minus justified false beliefs; also, some information is more important than other.
