As he climbs the wooden stairs, his feet heavy and dragging like lead, there's a bitterness in the back of his throat. The world seems a bit more colorless, suddenly. Everything appears washed out, as if though someone had gone through and dumped water on it all. The reds blurring the corners of his vision and threatening to claw their way out from within his chest have faded since yesterday afternoon, bleeding out into a gray, dead landscape that he now sees as he glances outside the window on his way up through the back stairwell. And as he ascends towards the roof, he wonders if kemus is disappointed in him. Just a bit, maybe, that he didn't manage to properly avenge him after all. The skies are dark and overcast. There are no stars. And he figures... well. It should all be worth it. Even if there aren't any angels or choirs or visions of his significant other, coming to take him to the other side. He closes his eyes, and juesato jumps. Heartbroken at the death of his Gay Knight lover, juesato follows kemus soon after his lover's killer is brought to justice by the town's lynch mob. |
