That single, solitary click, taking away every single thing she could have possibly wanted, every single thing she could have possibly said, every single thing that could have possibly pointed to any kind of future.
She hates the finality of that click.
They had detained her after the fact, of course. Men in dark suits had broken down her front door and dragged her out into the streets, thrown her into a dark van and locked her in some godforsaken cell in the middle of godforsaken nowhere.
And they had asked her to tell them things. Things about lvnguyen.
And when she had refused, they had beaten her, shocked her, submerged her in water and broken all her fingers.
The final blow had come two days ago, when they had finally let her see her -- a body, cold and dead, on the autopsy table.
And she had collapsed.
They haven't come by her cell since then, except to bring her some food.
And under the cold gaze of the figure currently looming over her in her cell, she somewhat happily realizes that they won't come by again.
