You should definitely read over the rules; this game is particularly complicated and a lot has changed while discussing the rules.

Things highlighted in yellow are changed from the last game or specific rules for this game that you should pay attention to.

The rules are subject to change until kickoff, and we'll announce any changes made after today (right now we're fixing a large number of minor bugs, and don't want to list everything). Ask for rules clarifications or point out broken things either here or by commenting on the rules document.

Kickoff will be at 14:30 on Monday (either today, or tomorrow, depending on how you count) at ET. Please post an intro by the end of kickoff. Roles will be sent out after kickoff, and you won't get your role until you post an intro.

The rest of Monday is day 0, and day 1 begins Tuesday at 8:00.

Clarifications regarding items:

- Tell GMs when you add or remove your name
- You know what names are on an item you're holding (you can ask GMs to check)
- Items are destroyed after use

Notes from Kickoff:

- Both Town Mafia kills and Mafia Mafia trap kills count as inner kills; Mafia Mafia using the Mafia* kill is an outer kill. This matters for investigations/outvestigations.
- Gay Knights are either told they're both *Town, or that they're both Town*. Gay Knight investigations will get reduced to one investigation. They have revenge kills upon correct guesses, but not bang immunity.
- There should be some way to stop people from reactively killing each other (a la vig restriction); aok proposes saying "banana bread <player name>" to yourself at least 30 seconds before being allowed to kill them.
- Stalker targets are told iff they're mafia or vigilante in the game in which they're being stalked AND have a kill available that day (?)
- Vig gets one kill per game, doesn't know if they successfully killed a mafia, and is Town Town but has only the one role; vig kills count as both inner and outer kills. (Jackie argues this seems like a problem for vig being provable??? Luke suggests that in order to fake vig, mafia be able to frame themselves in the other layer that they didn't make the kill in. Josh suggests that the vig picks which layer the kill counts as. Lotta points out that town would have to spend two investigations on this and the vig would then get trapped; but meanwhile this could still get them off the lynch block. Josh + aok think anything that isn't both layers is good (vig chooses, always inner, always outer, random, wave function collapses upon investigation) but ideally non-provable (so, random)).
- It's unpredictable to the town which mafia factions have kills, as chosen by God, by some secret algorithm. (Some people are complaining that they'd rather have a public and reasonable algorithm, specifically, flipping a coin for each pair of days to decide what order Mafia and Town Mafia get their kills.)

Changes from kickoff:

- Gay knights only get one guess for their lover's killer
- A stalker's target is informed their being stalked iff they're Mafia in the layer of the stalking. (Vigilantes do not know when they're being stalked).
- The Mafia (or Town Mafia) who dies due to a no kill day is randomly chosen among those who've made the fewest kills.
- Every two days, one of Mafia and Town Mafia has a kill on each day. Which team goes first is randomly chosen.

- There are 2 Town Mafia, not 4 (that was a typo)
- A vigilante kill is in a random single layer of game, not both layers. This prevents proving vigilantes Town Town by investigating their kill in both layers.

Clarification: Town Mafia and Mafia Mafia can set traps on each other by guessing the inner role "Mafia."

When are these coinflips announced to mafia? Will they ever be announced to town? (I think it should be all done immediately, and never)

They will be announced to Mafia and Town Mafia and least a day in advance, and never announced publicly.
