Each day, players should be held accountable for the items they claim to have, so that mafia can't just freely burn their items for whatever effect they want.
To check someone's items, just have them give you all of their items, and then you give all of those items back. If they don't have the items they claimed, they won't be capable of producing the requested items, and anyone who doesn't have their claimed items looks bad.
I'm adding a spreadsheet tab where we can note whenever people have last had their items checked.
