Sitting upon the stairs of the Esthetuan Great Library, Krue, The Savior of the Starving, wept. Her partner in battle, her one true love, Daniel Grazian, was dead. And he hadn’t even died in battle, but rather by being eaten by an overgrown lizard, almost certainly reanimated from the dead by the necromancers. Despite the accusations everyone routinely made of him practicing necromancy, Daniel had been the most noble soul Krue had ever known, and she could almost physically feel the world becoming worse for him not being in it. Did she even want to live in this world anymore, now that Daniel wasn’t here with her? Krue had tried and failed to avenge Daniel’s death, so it seemed like she had done what she could for him. At this point, Krue really just wanted to be with Daniel again, even if it was in death. Taking a deep breath, Krue drew her own sword from its sheath, and plunged it into her heart. Krue dies of heartbrokenness. |
