Don - elect a don for the day 1 kill, and have them make kills whenever they can (without losing their don power, of course). There is something to be said for killing in a way that doesn’t let town in on the pattern of don kills, but it’s still worth it to use day 1 IMO.
Manipulate the Press - I want to use this day 2. Combined with the day 1 don kill, it will help delay town getting a chance to investigate us.
Conscription - I'm really sad we have to use this day 1. I had a great plan to throw suspicion on a townie right before I'm caught. Then, we either get that townie lynched, or we conscript them. If it's the latter, they'd look innocent, because I, a known mafia, advocated for their lynch. Anyway, we can't do that now.
I'll make a followup conscription post in a bit.
Frame a Townsperson - We want to use this late in game, when a single lynch is most valuable for us. However, we need to be sure investigators are still alive when we do it (I’ve seen many games when the investigators/superheroes die off early and there’s no one to investigate the framing). Use it on someone sketchy who is unlikely to have an alibi.
Kabooms - We should probably have the don use these, although we should keep one for emergencies.
Set a trap - We should always keep one in reserve if we’re not pretty darn sure of someone’s role. The first one we can afford to try on a 50-50 guess though, especially if people aren’t role revealing much.
Slaughter the Weak - We can definitely afford to guess with this. Worst case scenario, we waste it and have to use regular set a traps on innocent children in the future. If anyone seems to unreasonably trust someone else, it’s a good bet.
Hire a hitman - We want to use this early on in game. Another option is to wait for me to get caught, then use it (all the kills at that point will be either mine or don kills).
Plant evidence - Use it on a controversial lynch. Maybe on the person we frame.
Poison - I think we should use one early and one late. Early to get rid of someone dangerous for us / obnoxious to kill, but who won’t be assertive enough to dominate town. Late for ambiguity over whether it’s a mafia making the claim / if there’s someone we really can’t get to. I might claim poison early along with the real poisoned person.
Scheme - This should be saved for emergencies, when we really need to get in a kill, but we’ve already used our daily one.
